It is taught Japanese style\, without katas\, and is trained by reaction. As it uses the opponent’s energy\, balance\, and stance against them\, learning\ndoes not require strength or speed. It is suitable for all adults of all abilities. \nThis class is for adults 18+ and will require a waiver to be signed to participate. Donations are appreciated but not required. Please bring a water bottle – refills are available. Advance sign up is not necessary – feel free to stop by and observe a class!

Learn how to turn fabric scraps\, old clothes or jeans into heirloom rag rugs just like Grandma did. You can bring your own fabric (6-8 yards of cotton calico print fabric is best\, washed and dried) or use vintage fabric provided. You will be crocheting simple patterns to make a round or rectangular rug. These rugs are easy care and can be washed and hung to dry\, lasting for years. This is a beginner-friendly project! \nYou are welcome to bring food and beverage to enjoy during the class. This class is flexibly recommended for ages 12+.
